DCP Testing Melbourne

Targeted testing. Better ground information. Dynamic cone penetrometer testing provides penetration resistance information at selected locations to support the agreed ground assessment.

When this service helps

Tell us the engineering purpose, required locations and any relevant specification. We confirm suitable testing and reporting, either as a separate service or part of a wider investigation.

Clear, agreed outputs

What you receive

DCP test records and any engineering interpretation included in your scope. Depending on the agreed scope, this includes:

  1. Test locations and penetration records

  2. Observations such as refusal

  3. Engineering interpretation included in the scope

Before you begin

Your questions, answered

Does a DCP result directly establish allowable bearing pressure?

No. Interpretation depends on the soil, method and supporting information. A penetration result should not be presented as a stand-alone bearing-capacity certificate.

Can DCP replace Level 1 earthworks supervision?

No. A local penetration test does not establish how fill was placed or whether the required supervision occurred.

What should I send with my enquiry?

Send your site address, proposed works, available plans or reports, access details and preferred timing. You can enquire before all plans are available.

When can the work be arranged?

Tell us your preferred timing and any access constraints. We’ll confirm the site visit and reporting timeframes for the agreed work before it begins.

Testing limitations

Results require interpretation in the context of the soils and project. Obstructions or refusal may limit testing; DCP testing alone does not replace every other investigation method.

How we work

From enquiry to informed decisions

  1. Share your project

Send your site address, proposed works, available plans and preferred timing.

  2. Confirm the scope

We review the information and provide a fee proposal outlining the agreed investigation and deliverables.

  3. Investigate the site

Once accepted and access is confirmed, we arrange the agreed site work and any required testing.

  4. Receive your report

We provide the agreed findings and recommendations to support your next design or construction decision.
